Desiring peace
Derived from the Old English elements 'wil', meaning desire or will, and 'frith', meaning peace. It was a common name in Anglo-Saxon England, famously borne by Saint Wilfrid, a 7th-century bishop. After a period of decline following the Norman Conquest, it saw a significant revival in the 19th century.
