Man of peace
Derived from the Germanic elements 'magan' meaning strength or 'man' meaning man, combined with 'frid' meaning peace. It was a common name among German royalty and nobility during the Middle Ages. In the English-speaking world, it gained some literary recognition through Lord Byron's dramatic poem.
