Gracious or nest-like
The name Nidia is often associated with the Latin word 'nidus', meaning nest, suggesting a sense of home and protection. It was popularized in the 19th century by the character Nydia in Edward Bulwer-Lytton's novel 'The Last Days of Pompeii'. In Spanish-speaking cultures, it is sometimes viewed as a variant of Nydia or Enid.
