Singled out, chosen, or of the Welsh people
Vala has multiple etymological roots, most notably from the Germanic 'wala' meaning 'chosen' or 'singled out.' In Old Norse, it is associated with a 'vรถlva' or seeress. It is also historically used as a diminutive for names like Valentina or as a reference to the Welsh people in Germanic languages.
