Abode of love or garden of light
The name is most famously associated with the Shalimar Gardens in Lahore and Kashmir, built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. While its exact etymology is debated, it is often interpreted as 'abode of love' in Sanskrit or 'garden of light' in Arabic. It gained international recognition in the 20th century through the iconic Guerlain fragrance.
