Marchell is a rare variant of Marcella, which is the feminine diminutive of Marcus. It is rooted in the Roman god of war, Mars, and has historical usage in Wales as a name for early saints. In modern contexts, it is often treated as a creative blend or a phonetic variation of Marshall or Michelle.
