Pledged to God
A variant of Isabel, which is the medieval Spanish form of Elizabeth. It ultimately derives from the Hebrew name Elisheba, meaning 'my God is an oath' or 'pledged to God'. While the 'Isabella' and 'Isabelle' spellings are more common, this version offers a streamlined look.
