Laurel tree or honor; from Lorraine
Loraina is a rare variant of Lorraine or Lorena. It likely stems from the Latin 'laurus', referring to the laurel tree which symbolizes victory and honor, or from the French region of Lorraine, named for the medieval King Lothar.
