God is my helper
Derived from the Hebrew name Eleazar, Lazarus is the Latinized form used in the New Testament. It is most famously associated with two biblical figures: the brother of Mary and Martha whom Jesus raised from the dead, and the beggar in one of Jesus' parables. The name has long symbolized rebirth and divine assistance.
About 185 boys were named Lazarus in 2025.
