A stranger there; an exile
Derived from the Hebrew name Gershom, it is traditionally interpreted as 'a stranger there' based on the biblical explanation given by Moses. In the Book of Exodus, Moses named his firstborn son Gershom because he had been a sojourner in a foreign land.
