Pledge of peace
A variant spelling of Geoffrey, derived from Germanic elements meaning 'pledge' or 'territory' combined with 'peace'. It was introduced to England by the Normans and became a staple of medieval nomenclature. While the 'Geoffrey' spelling is more common, this version maintains the same noble and historical weight.
