Hunting or to hunt
Alanta is a rare name most likely derived from the Greek name Atalanta, meaning 'unswaying' or 'hunting'. In Greek mythology, Atalanta was a renowned huntress and athlete who refused to marry unless a suitor could beat her in a footrace. It is also occasionally associated with the city of Atlanta, though it lacks the 't' in the middle.
