The river Jordan; to descend or flow down
Yordanos is the Ethiopic (Amharic and Tigrinya) form of the name Jordan. It refers to the Jordan River, which holds significant spiritual importance as the site of the baptism of Jesus. In East African Christian traditions, it is a common name for both girls and boys, though it is increasingly used for girls in the diaspora.
