Yanelli is a modern elaboration of Jane or Yana, ultimately derived from the Hebrew name Yochanan. It combines the traditional roots of the name John with the popular Spanish-influenced suffix '-elli'. It is most frequently used within Spanish-speaking communities in the United States.
