Wilfrido is the Spanish and Portuguese form of the Germanic name Wilfrid. It is composed of the elements 'wil', meaning desire or will, and 'frid', meaning peace. The name was famously borne by Saint Wilfrid, a 7th-century Northumbrian bishop.
