Meadow of quivering aspens
Derived from an Old English surname, it refers to a meadow or clearing where aspen trees grow. The name evokes a sense of movement and nature, specifically the way aspen leaves tremble or 'waver' in the wind. It gained literary recognition through Sir Walter Scott's 1814 novel.
