To strike or to knock
Terek is a name with multiple potential roots, most notably Arabic where it relates to the verb 'to strike' or 'to knock'. It is also the name of a significant river in the Caucasus region, flowing through Georgia and Russia into the Caspian Sea. In some contexts, it is considered a variant of the name Tariq.
