Beautiful girl or good maiden
Derived from the Sanskrit elements 'su' meaning good or beautiful and 'kanya' meaning girl or daughter. In Hindu mythology, Sukanya was the daughter of King Sharyati and the devoted wife of the elderly sage Chyavana.
