Sparrow; redwood tree
Derived from the Cherokee name Sikwayi, its exact etymology is debated but is most commonly associated with the sparrow. It is famously linked to the giant redwood trees of California, which were named in honor of the Cherokee scholar who created the Cherokee syllabary.
