Senia is most commonly understood as a diminutive or variant of Xenia, a Greek name derived from 'xenos'. It embodies the ancient Greek concept of 'xenia', which refers to the ritualized hospitality shown to strangers. In some Slavic contexts, it is also used as a pet form of names like Ksenia or Yeseniya.
