Maiden or virginal
Derived from the Roman family name Virginius, which is likely of Etruscan origin but traditionally associated with the Latin word 'virgo', meaning maiden. It became a popular English name in honor of Elizabeth I, the 'Virgin Queen', for whom the American colony was named.
