Joy, refuge, or thread
In Sanskrit, the name means 'refuge' or 'sanctuary'. In African contexts, particularly Guinea and Mali, it is often associated with 'joy'. It is also the name of a type of synthetic fiber, though this is rarely the intended namesake for parents.
