Laurel or bay plant
Lauran is a variant of Lauren, which ultimately derives from the Latin name Laurentius. It refers to the laurel plant, which was used in ancient Rome to create crowns for victors and poets as a symbol of honor. While the 'en' spelling is most common, this 'an' variation offers a unique twist on a classic botanical name.
