Singer or to flow
Riah is often considered a shortened form of Maria or Moriah, but it also has roots in Greek meaning 'singer' or 'to flow.' In some contexts, it is associated with the Hebrew word for 'breath' or 'scent.' Its brevity and soft sound make it a modern alternative to more traditional biblical names.
About 30 girls were named Riah in 2025.
