Beloved or dearly loved
Rasmus is the Scandinavian and Dutch form of Erasmus. It is derived from the Greek word 'erasmios', which means beloved or desired. The name gained popularity in Northern Europe due to the veneration of Saint Erasmus, the patron saint of sailors.
