In Arabic tradition, Ar-Rayyan is the name of one of the gates of Paradise through which only those who fast will enter. It also carries the linguistic meaning of being well-watered, lush, or succulent, symbolizing abundance and spiritual reward. While distinct, it is sometimes associated with the Sanskrit name Ryan, meaning little king.
