Dark-skinned or mouth of brass
Pinchos is the Yiddish form of the Hebrew name Phinehas. It is traditionally associated with the biblical grandson of Aaron, known for his zeal. The name's etymology is debated, possibly deriving from the Egyptian name Pa-nehasi meaning 'the Nubian' or 'dark-skinned', or from Hebrew roots meaning 'mouth of brass'.
