Lion of God or strength of God
Derived from the Hebrew name Otni'el, it is composed of elements meaning 'strength' or 'lion' and 'El' referring to God. In the Old Testament, Othniel is recognized as the first of the Biblical Judges, known for delivering the Israelites from Mesopotamian oppression.
