Strong, vigorous, or black
Derived from the Sabine word meaning 'strong' or 'valiant,' it was a prominent cognomen in the Roman Claudian family. In Italian, it also serves as the word for the color black. While historically associated with the Roman emperor, it is gaining modern interest as a short, punchy 'o' ending name.
