Dark-skinned or Moorish
Maurico is a variant of Mauricio, which stems from the Latin name Mauricius. It was historically used to describe individuals from the Roman province of Mauretania or those with darker complexions. While rare in the United States, it retains a strong connection to its Roman and Mediterranean roots.
