Mighty in battle
Maudie is a diminutive of Maud, which is the Old French form of the Germanic name Matilda. It carries the same meaning of strength and power in conflict. While it was highly popular in the late 19th century, it is now considered a rare vintage gem.
About 10 girls were named Maudie in 2025.
