Of Mars; young warrior
Marcelis is a variant of Marcellus, a Roman family name derived from Marcus. It ultimately refers to Mars, the Roman god of war, and is often interpreted as meaning 'little warrior' or 'dedicated to Mars.' While rare, it carries a sense of ancient strength combined with a modern, rhythmic ending.
