Mahalath; stringed instrument or sickness
Mahelet is an Amharic form of the biblical Hebrew name Mahalath. In the Old Testament, it is the name of a wife of Esau and a wife of Rehoboam, and also appears in the titles of Psalms 53 and 88, possibly referring to a musical style or instrument.
