Laurel tree or from Laurentum
Loran is a variant of Loren or Laurence, ultimately derived from the Latin 'Laurus'. It refers to the laurel tree, which symbolized victory and honor in ancient Rome. While historically used for both genders, it remains a rare alternative to the more common Lauren or Loren.
