Loralai is a modern spelling variant of Lorelei, rooted in German folklore. It refers to a steep rock on the bank of the Rhine River where, according to legend, a beautiful siren lured sailors to their doom with her song. The name combines the Middle High German words 'luren' (to watch or lurk) and 'lei' (rock).
