Pledged to God
Lizbett is a rare phonetic variant of Lisbet or Lisbeth, which are Scandinavian and German short forms of Elizabeth. It ultimately derives from the Hebrew name Elisheba, meaning 'my God is an oath' or 'pledged to God'. While the 'z' spelling gives it a modern, energetic feel, it retains the deep historical roots of its parent name.
