Lime tree or linden tree hill
Lindey is a variant of Lindy or Lindsay, derived from the Old English elements for a linden tree and an island or wetland. It can also be interpreted as a diminutive of names containing the 'lind' element, which often refers to the lime tree, a symbol of protection and peace in Germanic folklore.
