Small cloak or sweetheart
Derived from the Irish Gaelic name Leannán, it traditionally translates to 'sweetheart' or 'lover'. In some contexts, it is also associated with the word for a small cloak or mantle. While historically masculine in Ireland, it is increasingly used as a gender-neutral or feminine choice in the United States.
