Sea of Miguel
A modern name derived from the rare blue gemstone found only in the Dominican Republic. It was coined by Miguel Méndez, who combined his daughter's name, Larissa, with the Spanish word for sea, 'mar'.
About 21 girls were named Larimar in 2025.
