Lanah is a variant of Lana, which has multiple possible origins. It is often considered a short form of Alana, meaning 'rock' or 'handsome' in Gaelic, or the Slavic Svetlana, meaning 'light'. In some contexts, it is also associated with the Hawaiian word for 'calm' or 'floating'.
