Unknown; likely a modern invented name
Lamelo is a modern American name with no established etymological roots in traditional languages. It gained significant visibility in the 21st century through the Ball family of basketball players. It may have been created as a rhythmic variation of names like Carmelo or influenced by the 'La-' prefix common in African American naming traditions.
