Like the sun, or far-sighted
Kourosh is the modern Persian form of Cyrus. It is most famously associated with Cyrus the Great, the founder of the Achaemenid Empire, who is remembered as a just and benevolent ruler. The name likely derives from an Old Persian word meaning 'sun' or 'bestower of care'.
