Eyes of Lord Shiva or berry of the rudraksha tree
Derived from Sanskrit, the name refers to the seeds of the Elaeocarpus ganitrus tree, which are traditionally used as prayer beads in Hinduism. Etymologically, it combines 'Rudra' (a name for Lord Shiva) and 'aksha' (meaning eye).
