Victory of the people
Kolin is a variant spelling of Colin, which originated as a medieval diminutive of Nicholas. It combines the Greek elements 'nike' (victory) and 'laos' (people). While the 'K' spelling gives it a more modern, Germanic appearance, its roots are firmly planted in classical Greek and Gaelic traditions.
