Pure; also a variant of the Greek ferryman Charon
Karon is primarily used as a modern phonetic variant of Karen or Caren, but for boys, it often emerges as a creative spelling of the Greek name Charon. In Greek mythology, Charon was the ferryman who carried souls across the river Styx. It is also occasionally used as a variant of the Gaelic name Kieran, meaning little dark one.
