In Sanskrit, Kaliya is the name of a multi-headed serpent (Naga) defeated by the deity Krishna. It is often associated with the goddess Kali, representing time, change, and power. In some contexts, it is also interpreted as a variant of the name Kali, meaning 'the black one'.
