Pure
Kadi is a variant of the name Katy or Katie, which ultimately derives from the Greek name Aikaterine. While its exact etymology is debated, it is most commonly associated with the Greek word 'katharos', meaning pure. In some West African cultures, particularly among the Mandinka people, Kadi is also used as a diminutive of Kadidiatou.
