Jewel or precious gem
Derived from the Swahili word for a jewel or gemstone, it symbolizes something of great value and rarity. In East African cultures, it is often chosen to reflect the precious nature of a child. While traditionally more common for females, it is increasingly used as a distinctive unisex choice.
