Jenika is a modern elaboration of Jane or Jennifer, combining the Hebrew roots of Jane with the Cornish roots of Jennifer. It may also be viewed as a variation of the Sanskrit name Janika, meaning 'mother' or 'origin'. In Western contexts, it is often chosen as a unique alternative to Jessica or Jenna.
Less common today
Jenika isn't in the latest US Top 1000. It last peaked at #3,788 in 1991.
