Jenice is a modern American elaboration of Jane or Janice, ultimately derived from the Hebrew name Yochanan. It combines the traditional roots of 'God is gracious' with a more unique, phonetic ending popular in the mid-20th century. While it shares a lineage with the classic Joan and Jean, it maintains a distinct, rare identity.
